Property Brothers Star Jonathan Scott Finishes Magic Trick By Casually Eating a Dog Treat

"If it’s good enough for my pups, it needs to be good enough for me!"

  • The Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show while on their Builder Brothers: Better Together book tour.
  • Daytime TV host Kelly Clarkson asked Jonathan to perform magic tricks with dogs.
  • After making dog treats disappear, Jonathan decided to eat them and surprised everyone on the show, but he had no regrets.

The Property Brothers recently stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show while on their Builder Brothers: Better Together book tour and Jonathan Scott had a few magic tricks up his sleeve, but there was an unexpected moment that caught everyone off guard, including his twin brother, Drew Scott.

HGTV fans may know that Jonathan is a longtime magician and apparently, Kelly Clarkson also knew this too, asking him, “You’re a magician. Do you ever do tricks with your dogs?”

The 41-year-old shared that he actually did use dogs in his magic shows, more specifically, his Chihuahua named Gracie. “She used to be really, really chubby, and you can do anything with her. Put her anywhere and she’ll just stay,” he explained. “I, instead of using a rabbit, pulled Gracie out of a top hat.”

Clarkson suggested that Jonathan should perform magic tricks during the Builder Brothers book tour and asked if he could show off his talent with the dogs surrounding them. Of course, that was enough for the HGTV star to start wowing the audience by making treats disappear in front of the doggies, who didn’t quite understand what was going on.

Instead of continuing to confuse the dogs, Jonathan decided to take a bite of the dog treats he was holding, saying that they’re also meant for “human consumption.”

But comedic Wanda Sykes was not having it, and Drew Scott also didn’t want to be grouped in with his brother, saying, “Don’t put me in with Jonathan…That’s a creepy Jonathan thing.”

He later posted the moment on Instagram and had no regrets. "Haha. What can I say...if it’s good enough for my pups it needs to be good enough for me!" he wrote.

Whether or not you’re also up for eating dog treats on a whim, it’s clear the Scott brother knows how to get people talking about his performances.
